There are currently no laws preventing it, although you would get some strange looks if you were to wear overt body armour in public (unless you are a security guard etc…)

There may be a few people who wear covert body armour, but it’s very likely that if this is the case it would be an extreme minority of people. There isn’t really much fear of shootings here as they just don’t happen very often (although they do happen far more than most people think, due to lack of media coverage of singular events and gang violence), that being said I couldn’t blame people for wearing a stab vest in certain areas of cities that have very high knife crime. It would depend on where. In most parts of the world nobody would care. If you go full on tacticool you may make a fool out of yourself, but few would care. In the US you would be accused of “stolen valor”. This time of year I wear a jacket in black wool that is a replica of the M65 jacket. Stylish and comfortable. Nobody have said anything about it. For colder days I have a full length, wool coat from the navy. Got it cheap as surplus. Despite having brass buttons with insignia on them nobody have said anything about it.
