 I was in a fairly expensive dress shop many years ago, they sold some designer clothes you’d recognize, i had the money to buy a really nice dress. I tried on several dresses I liked but nothing made me go “WOW”. The prices of those ranged up to $600. Then I walked past a sale rack(clearance really) and saw a dress with a print I really liked. Took the dress off the rack, loved the style as well as the print and took it too the fitting room. The looks I for from the saleswoman helping me could have withered a pine tree. She tut-rutted at me several times. Well that dress made me go WOW! more than once. I was prepared to have alterations done if needed on what ever I fought. This fit me like it had been altered to my body already. It was $176, and I took it home. I have only boughtv3 designer garments in my life, they were classic designs and I wore them for years. My clothes are usually run of the mill from run of the mill stores, rhings that were nice but inexpensive. I just liked having some really nice pieces for special occasions.

As an 18-year-old I once went into an upscale dress shop to look for a nice dress. I had just gotten paid and could finally afford something nice so I was excited. When I walked into the shop, I was wearing a bulky fake fur coat. I should also mention that I’m 6 ft tall so I was rather an imposing figure. I browsed the racks until I found a sheath dress that I really loved and pulled out the size that I usually wore, which was the equivalent of about a size 6. I asked the clerk if I could try it on and she looked me up and down and said, “Oh honey, that dress is not going to fit you!”
